Light Layer:
Exploring Perceptual Depth Through Holographic Diffraction

How many worlds are contained in a single beam of light? In this project, light filters through cut black paper and holographic film before it reaches the human eye where it stimulates patterns of perceptual color and depth. Light wave diffraction provides a method of controlling depth cues; the multiplication, size, spacing, and speeds of the viewers to discover how the ordinary can transform into extraordinary when we glimpse our own perception at work.
